We’re continuing our look back at more royal events from earlier this month today with a peek at the jewelry worn for Victoriadagen, Crown Princess Victoria’s birthday celebrations in Sweden. Spoiler alert: earrings galore!
On July 14, Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her 47th birthday at the Swedish royal family’s summer residence, Solliden Palace, on the island of Öland. She was joined for the festivities by her entire family: her parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia; her husband, Prince Daniel, and their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar; her brother, Prince Carl Philip, with his wife, Princess Sofia, and their sons, Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Julian; and her sister, Princess Madeleine, with her husband, Christopher O’Neill, and their children, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas, and Princess Adrienne.
Crowds traditionally gather outside the palace on Victoria’s birthday, and they sing “Happy Birthday” before participating in cheers led by the King. Later on, the family attends a concert nearby, which is broadcast on television, and Victoria presents a special award, the Victoriastipendiet, to a Swedish athlete who has accomplished a notable feat during the previous year. This year, the award was given to the volleyball player Isabelle Haak, who was named the MVP of this year’s champion European Golden League team from Sweden.
For the celebrations at Solliden, Crown Princesss Victoria wore a brightly patterned summer dress with small diamond jewelry pieces. UFO No More tells us that her diamond jacket-style earrings come from the brand LWL Jewelry. Her sister-in-law, Princess Sofia, has previously the same style.
Victoria also wore a few other small jewelry pieces, including a delicate diamond horseshoe necklace, as well as a ring spelling out the word MOM on her right hand.
Princess Estelle also wore a summery floral dress to celebrate her mother’s birthday. She accessorized with a pair of earrings featuring teeny white topaz drops suspended from a delicate yellow gold chain.
Queen Silvia opted for a structured tweed skirt suit for the celebrations at Solliden, softened a bit by a blouse with a bow detail. She added pearl earrings and a pearl necklace to the ensemble as well.
Princess Madeleine, who has moved back to Sweden with her family after residing in Florida for several years, also wore a floral dress for her sister’s birthday celebrations. She accessorized with a pair of striking statement earrings that appear to be set with diamonds, as well as layered necklaces and bracelets. One of the bracelets is a large cuff-style piece that spells out a word in script. I think it might be “alltid,” which means “always” in Swedish. Beside her, Princess Leonore also wears a pair of small hoop earrings with her floral dress.
Princess Sofia likes to wear her long hair in a style that frames her face–and often hides her earrings. But we got a glimpse of red coral drops peeking out in this photograph from the birthday celebrations at Solliden.
As usual, UFO No More comes to the rescue, sharing this image of the full pair of earrings. These are from Kajun Stockholm, made of gold and set with diamonds, turquoise, and coral.
