On Thursday, the King and Queen of Denmark participated in the national commemorations of Flag Day in Copenhagen, and Queen Mary wore elegant pearls for occasion.
Flag Day, which has been commemorated in Denmark since 2009, recognizes the efforts of the men and women of the Danish military in deployment, as well as the sacrifices made by their families. The day is also an opportunity to pay respects to the fallen. King Frederik X and Queen Mary laid a wreath at Kastellet, a fortress in Copenhagen, during Thursday’s events.
The royal couple also attended a memorial ceremony at the fortress and a parade and flypast in the square outside Christiansborg Palace.
For the day of remembrance and honor, Queen Mary was dressed in navy blue with blush-colored accessories and pearls. Her dress, per UFO No More, is the “Jubilee” dress from the brand Goat Fashion. She paired it with the same navy picture hat that she wore during the recent summer tour aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog.
Mary accessorized with pieces of jewelry made of gold and set with pearls, including pearl earrings, a single-stranded pearl necklace (layered with the thin gold chain from which her letter F charm, set with diamonds, is suspended), and a pearl bracelet and ring. She also wore a pair of gold Cartier Love Bracelets on her left wrist.
Here’s a closer look at Mary’s pearl earrings and necklace during the military parade. The necklace has been a staple piece in Mary’s jewelry wardrobe for more than a decade.
While the necklace and earrings are timeless pieces, the freshwater pearl and gold bracelet that Mary wore on her right wrist is a more modern piece. It’s part of her collection of jewelry from Dulong.
