The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg hit the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival this week, with Maria Teresa sporting some major statement jewels set with amethysts.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg headed to Venice on Sunday to support Luxembourgish filmmakers and artists, making a stop at the country’s pavilion at the Venice Biennale before heading to the Venice International Film Festival. There, they walked the red carpet before the screening of a new Brazilian film, Ainda Estou Aqui (I’m Still Here).
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore an ensemble in rich shades of purple and blue for the film premiere, while Grand Duke Henri opted for a business suit. (I’m a little puzzled by his choice of attire, as most of the other men walking the red carpet wore either tuxedos or dark suits and ties.) UFO No More tells us that Maria Teresa’s dress comes from the brand Maison Rabih Kayrouz, which has boutiques located in Paris, London, and Beirut.
With the dress, Maria Teresa wore a modern pair of statement earrings. These features polished amethyst studs and dark beaded pendants, with more polished amethyst beads incorporated among those fringe-style sections.
UFO No More also has details on the maker of these earrings. They come from the brand Monies, which was founded in Denmark and guided by creative director Karl Monies. The company still has its studio in Copenhagen, with boutiques located in Paris and Milan.
Here’s one more look at the earrings. This shot shows the color of the amethysts more accurately, I think.
Maria Teresa finished off the look with a bracelet and rings on both hands.
On her left hand, she wore a ring with a diamond solitaire set in a wide silver-toned band, as well as her wedding ring.
On her right wrist, she wore a slender gold bangle bracelet with diamond-studded tips. She finished off the look with yet another sizeable amethyst, set in a gold cocktail ring and worn on her right hand.
