Today is National Day in Monaco, and the Grimaldis are expected to make their usual annual appearances at the palace and later on at a grand gala. I’ll be covering those events here tomorrow, and in the meantime, I’ve got another sparkling Grimaldi gala moment for you, from last month’s Princess Grace Awards Gala in New York.
Prince Albert II of Monaco was joined by his elder daughter, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, at the Pierre Hotel in New York on October 23 for the Princess Grace Awards 40th Anniversary Gala. The black-tie gala featured the presentation of the 2023 and 2024 Classes of Princess Grace Award winners, who receive, per the official foundation website, “career-advancing grants that identify America’s most promising emerging talent in theater, dance and film.”
During the gala, two Princess Grace Statue Awards were also presented to previous award winners who have made significant contributions to their chosen artistic field of theater, dance or film since receiving their initial award, and one Prince Rainier III Award recipient, the actor Michael Douglas, was honored for outstanding artistic excellence as well as dedication to community service. You can read more about all of this year’s award winners here.
For the black-tie event, Jazmin wore a sweeping ballgown made by the American fashion designer Alex Teih. On his Instagram account, Teih described the dress as a “glamorous one-shoulder gown in metallic floral brocade, exuding Hollywood elegance with bold layers and timeless charm.” Teih also outfitted other attendees at the gala.
With the dramatic gown, Jazmin added jewels by designer Alex Soldier, who also attended the gala and made the Prince Rainier III Award statuette for the foundation. She wore both earrings and a bold cocktail ring from Soldier’s workshop.
The earrings she paired with the dress are Soldier’s Gold Swan Drop Earrings, which are made of white gold and set with diamonds and rutilated quartz. Here’s a view of the earrings from the designer’s website; Jazmin’s quartzes appear to be slightly more yellow in tone. The website notes that “the gracefulness and poise of the swan has inspired Alex Soldier to create the Swan collection. It is dedicated to every woman who is in love. The form of the center stone resembles a swan’s head, and the elongated diamond bar is curved into the shape of its neck. These gorgeous Rutilated Swan earrings are made to highlight any occasion.” The earrings retail for $6,995 USD.
Jazmin also wore a striking statement ring, also made by Soldier, that coordinated with the dark metallic tones of her dress. Here, she wears the black and white diamond ring on her right hand.
And here’s a view of the Gold Astra Ring from Soldier’s website. The copy accompanying the ring on the website notes, “Just like fireworks, Alex Soldier’s Astra flowers create a spectacular splash of the senses and remind us that life is filled with magic and beauty. One of the collection’s highlights is the magnificent Diamond Astra studded with finest white and black diamonds and meticulously detailed with Alex Soldier’s signature metalwork in 18 karat blackened white gold. The flower features 18 separate components that form together a remarkable composition. Thanks to Soldier’s jewelry-making magic, the piece can be worn as a brooch, necklace, ring or a cuff.” The ring retails for $89,995 USD.
On the step-and-repeat ahead of the gala, Jazmin switched the ring back and forth between her hands, presumably to allow photographers to snap better photos of all of the jewels worn with her ensemble. In this image, she has moved the ring over to her left hand.
