On Wednesday, Queen Camilla was in London for a pair of festive holiday engagements, wearing classic diamonds and pearls for both occasions.
Queen Camilla, in her role as Patron of Royal Voluntary Service, attended a “Festive Spread” Christmas lunch at The Amadeus in London on Wednesday. She joined lunch club diners, volunteers, staff, and celebrity supporters for the meal. It was one of a series of similar lunches held throughout the country with the goal of helping to make sure that the vulnerable, elderly, or bereaved in communities do not spend the entire festive season without seeing another person. Camilla spent time chatting with those in attendance and even helped to light an enormous figgy pudding during the event, admitting that she felt a little nervous about taking on the task. “Hold on to your hair!” she jokingly told those nearby.
Afterward, the Queen returned to Buckingham Palace, where she joined the King for a special performance by the Military Wives Choirs. The choirs, directed by Hilary Davan Wetton, sang their latest single, “November Sunday,” and a bonus Christmas tune for the royal couple. “November Sunday” has particularly special resonance for the monarch, as it was written by John McLaren and recorded by the choirs as a birthday present for him. The project website notes that the “the song captures the hope and joy brought to post-war Britain on 14th November 1948 with the birth of the future King to his mother, then Princess Elizabeth.”
Camilla wore the same outfit and accessories for both events: a bottle green jacket and skirt by Anna Valentine, paired with a cream-colored blouse and dark boots.
She reached for some favorite pearl and diamond pieces from her jewelry box to complete the ensemble, including her diamond floral clip earrings, which have round pearl pendants.
The necklace that Camilla wore has been a favorite for many years. The four-stranded pearl choker has a distinctive round diamond clasp with floral elements in its design. The necklace and earrings aren’t a matching set, but their designs are complementary, and Camilla has often worn them together over the years.
The Queen also added some of her usual bracelets to the outfit, and one of her necklaces, with a gold pendant engraved with her grandchildren’s initials, peeked out from her neckline during the day’s events. Her diamond engagement ring, a legacy from the late Queen Mother, and her Welsh gold wedding ring also sparkled on her left hand.
