Happy Garter Day, everyone! The British royals headed to Windsor Castle today for the annual Order of the Garter luncheon and service, and there were plenty of lovely jewels on display for the occasion.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the Garter knights and ladies as they processed from Windsor Castle to St. George’s Chapel for the annual order service on Monday. Charles has been sovereign of the order, which is the senior British order of chivalry, since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. He has himself been a royal knight since 1958, when he was created Prince of Wales. The late Queen gave the Garter to his wife, Camilla, in January 2022.

With her Garter robes, Queen Camilla wore a white gown with favorite pieces of pearl and diamond jewelry. You’ll just see her four-row pearl necklace with the round diamond clasp peeking out from the collar of her robes.

She also wore her favorite earrings: diamond floral clips with round pearl drops.

Pearls, indeed, were the trending accessory of the day. The Princess Royal, who got the Garter in 1994, wore her sapphire and pearl drop earrings, as well her four-row pearl necklace with the diamond and sapphire floral clasp.

The Duchess of Gloucester, who became a member of the order in 2024, also got the pearl memo. She wore pearl and diamond cluster earrings and a pearl necklace with a diamond and pearl cluster clasp with her Garter robes. (PS: Can you believe Birgitte will be 80 on Saturday?)

While the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh processed with the rest of the Garter knights, their wives waited at the chapel for the service to begin. The Princess of Wales was elegant in a coatdress by the British designer Patrick McDowell. (She presented him with the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design in 2025.) The Duchess of Edinburgh opted for a floral dress from Suzannah London.

Catherine accessorized with an important pair of diamond earrings from her jewelry box: her oak leaf and acorn earrings, famously worn on her wedding day in 2011. The earrings are custom creations from Robinson Pelham, and they reference the acorn motif on her father’s coat of arms.

Kate also wore her usual stack of rings: her Welsh gold wedding band, her diamond and sapphire eternity ring, her sapphire and diamond engagement ring, and her diamond eternity ring.

Sophie wore a pair of petite flower earrings for the service, plus a classic diamond cross necklace and her oak leaf bracelet.
Royal June rolls on, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for the first day of Royal Ascot!
